Publishing your help center
Updated Oct 23, 2026
Your help center is a public website of your knowledge base articles, hosted by
Aigento. Customers can read your answers without writing to you, and search
engines can find them. It is off until you publish it.
Publish it
- Go to Settings → Channels → Hosted pages → Help center.
- Switch on Public help center. Before you do, the line under it says how
many articles will be public. - Copy the help center link with the copy button, or open it with the button
beside it.
The link is https://app.aigen.to/help/<your-workspace>. Link it from your
website's footer or menu, your order emails and your autoreplies.
Which articles it shows
The help center shows a knowledge base article only when it is all of:
- Active. Drafts and archived articles never appear.
- Customer-facing. Internal articles stay private.
- For the whole workspace. An article limited to one store or channel
stays private. - Written or accepted by you. Articles you write, import or accept from a
suggestion can appear. A suggestion drafted from a ticket starts out
internal when you accept it; make it customer-facing to publish it.
Change an article in Knowledge and the help center shows the change the
next time the page loads. Archive it or make it internal and it disappears.
What readers see
The front page lists the articles by category, with a short preview of each.
Each article has its own address made from its title, like/help/<your-workspace>/returns-and-refunds, so links stay readable when you
share them. Every page ends with a Contact button, with your workspace's
name, that opens your contact page.
The pages use your workspace's name and the accent colour of your contact
page (Settings → Channels → Hosted pages → Contact page → Edit).
A reader whose browser is set to another language than the article's gets it
machine-translated, labelled Translated automatically, with Show
original to switch back. The first reader in a language may see the
original while the translation is made; later readers get it at once.
Search engines
Every page has its own title, description and link preview. The help center
has a sitemap at /help/<your-workspace>/sitemap.xml that lists every article
with the date it last changed, and Aigento points search engines to it, so you
don't have to submit anything. New and changed articles get picked up the next
time a search engine visits.
The help center and the chat widget
The chat widget's Help tab shows your articles inside the chat, whether or
not the help center is published. Turn it on with the Help & chat tabs in
the chat widget's look (Settings → Channels → Chat widget → Default look →
Edit), where you also pick Featured articles to show first. See Adding
Aigento chat to your website.
Unpublish it
Switch off Public help center. Every help center page stops loading at
once; your articles stay in your knowledge base.
